We welcome your participation in the LTU Staff Senate's Giving Tree!

On behalf of the LTU Staff Senate, along with the Southfield Goodfellows, you are invited to participate! The Giving Tree is our holiday gift-giving collection for area children, coordinated by the Community Outreach Committee of Staff Senate.

Your assistance is needed to help make a child’s or young person’s holiday season a special one. If you have participated before, you will notice some changes from previous years. The good news is that it’s easier than ever to take part and do so in a safe way.

In order to keep volunteers, the children, and their families safe, the Goodfellows will provide gift cards for the children this year, rather than request gifts of clothing, etc. from the campus community. To allow time for the Goodfellows to purchase these gift cards, they have provided a deadline of October 29 to receive either monetary donations, or we have the option of purchasing our own gift cards.

To donate by credit card, all you need to do is click here. If you prefer to purchase gift cards yourself, you can drop them off at the LTU Library before October 29 during their open hours. Stores with locations in the Southfield-area such as Target, Meijer or TJ Maxx are good options.

Alternately, you can make a check payable to “Southfield Goodfellows” and either drop it off at the library, or mail it to P.O. Box 2336, Southfield, MI 48037. Donations are tax-deductible, and receipts will be available upon request from the Goodfellows.

To celebrate our generous community, we will host a socially-distanced tree lighting event on Thursday, November 5th at 1:30 PM in the Buell Atrium. The first 40 donors will receive a special thank you gift at the event and holiday treats will be served!
