Jim Jolly is the university's accreditation liaison officer for the Higher Learning Commission and an ex officio member of the university assessment and research support service committees.
He has taught courses in law, leadership, and humanities for LTU's colleges of management and arts and sciences.
He also serves the City of Livonia as a city councilman where he chairs the committee on Public Safety, Recreation, and Education, a licensed attorney practicing primarily in Wayne and Oakland counties, and a former magistrate of the 16th District Court in Livonia, Michigan. He serves on the State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness District Committee, as past-president of the Livonia Bar Association, and is a member of the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers and Shamrock Bar Association . He received a bachelor degree in American Studies from Western Michigan University and his law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.
