Renée Tambeau serves as interim vice president and director of communications and academic editor, where she oversees the development of all marketing campaigns and branding strategies for the University.
Tambeau has more than 25 years experience working in marketing and communications and community outreach. She has created and developed thousands of promotional materials and campaigns. She has worked at the University of Michigan, the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, and Wayne State University. Tambeau was the director of marketing and sales at Wayne State University Press, overseeing 1,000+ accounts and $2,000,000 net sales annually. As the Director of Marketing, Sales and Outreach for the University of Michigan Press/Michigan Publishing, she was in charge of internal and external communications, making complicated concepts easier to understand. Early in her career she also worked as a volunteer with many non-profit arts organizations that focused on social justice issues. Tambeau’s approach to leadership borrows from a Helen Keller quote, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
Tambeau holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Arts in fine, performing, and communication arts from Wayne State University. She was also selected to participate in the highly competitive leadership program at University of Michigan’s Center for the Education of Women.
