The Centrepolis Accelerator, a physical product business incubator established last year by Lawrence Technological University and the city of Southfield, is co-sponsoring the first-ever Michigan Hardware Tech Summit, to be held Wednesday, June 19 at the Lexus Velodrome, 601 Mack Ave. in Detroit.
The Michigan Energy Office (MEO) has awarded a one-year, $75,000 Michigan Cleantech Product Launch Program (MI CPLP) grant to Lawrence Technological University (LTU) and the Centrepolis Accelerator to launch a “Cleantech ScaleUp for Success” pilot program.
Budding entrepreneur Max Feber has fulfilled a childhood dream of being featured on ABC's entrepreneurial pitch show “Shark Tank” – and during the appearance, Feber even scored a deal with billionaire Mark Cuban. Feber and his pitch for the Bruw cold-brewed coffee system were featured on the Sunday, Jan. 6 edition of the show, and Feber accepted $50,000 from Cuban for a 30 percent stake in the company. Feber, 19, honed his startup skills three years ago in an entrepreneurship class, offered as a dual-enrollment course by Lawrence Technological University and Frankel Jewish Academy in West Bloomfield Township. The course was taught by LTU college professor Donald Reimer.
Lawrence Technological University will kick off its annual “Executive to Executive” business breakfast series Tuesday, Oct. 16 with LTU Professor Jacqueline Stavros, co-author of the recent top-selling business book, “Conversations Worth Having: Using Appreciative Inquiry to Fuel Productive and Meaningful Engagement.”
