Lawrence Technological University’s Formula SAE car finished second among nine participating schools in its 11th annual Grand Prix Saturday, organized by LTU’s Blue Devil Motorsports student racing organization.
The howl of high-powered engines will be bouncing off the skyscrapers of Southfield’s City Centre area this Saturday, Oct. 12, as Lawrence Technological University hosts its 11th annual Grand Prix, organized by LTU’s Blue Devil Motorsports student racing organization.
Innovation Encounter, an engineering competition where collegiate teams design a solution to a real-world technical problem, will be held for the 10th year this fall at Lawrence Technological University. The event will be held Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19 at LTU’s campus in Southfield. Eaton, the power management company, is this year’s sponsor for the event, and will be providing the real-world problem for the students to tackle.
Lawrence Technological University—joined by the City of Southfield and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation—will cut the ribbon on its new manufacturing business accelerator Friday, Oct. 4 during an invitation-only ceremony at 9 a.m.
Lawrence Technological University finished second in the nation in the annual College Design Challenge, held Wednesday in Vienna, Va. by SourceAmerica, a nonprofit that creates employment opportunities for people with disabilities. It’s the third straight year that LTU was named one of the three national finalists in the event.
The way U.S. Sen Debbie Stabenow sees it, today’s society faces many challenges stemming from constant, chaotic change—from a changing climate, to wrenching economic upheavals, to the effects of modern technology, to increasing levels of misinformation and political division. But giving a Commencement address at Lawrence Technological University Saturday afternoon, Stabenow expressed confidence that LTU graduates are up to the challenge.
