The “Leaders & Innovators” business education series, presented by WWJ Newsradio 950 and hosted at Lawrence Technological University, returns for another academic year on Thursday, Sept. 26.

This year’s kickoff event will help those who break into a cold sweat at the idea of public speaking. “A Crash Course: Fear of Presentation” is the topic, with speaker Cliff Suttle, president of ExciteYourAudience.com, a company that specializes in presentation skills coaching and speechwriting services for business professionals.

Suttle says research shows that people with a significant fear of public speaking earn less than their peers who don’t have that fear—which makes sense, given that just about every career path requires some form of speaking in front of a group, from meetings to elevator pitches to boardroom presentations. Suttle will provide tips and tricks to help attendees get over their fear of presentations and public speaking.

The event begins with registration, networking, and continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., and the presentation from 8 to 9 a.m. The moderator is WWJ Business Editor Murray Feldman. The venue is the University Technology and Learning Center Gallery at LTU, 21000 W. 10 Mile Road in Southfield (building 3 at www.ltu.edu/map).  Free parking is available in Lots A and G.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information or to register, visit https://wwjnewsradio.radio.com/events/wwjs-leaders-innovators-series-0.
