SOUTHFIELD—Lawrence Technological University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has received full accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education through June 2026.

The program, launched in partnership with Ascension Michigan in 2017, graduated its first 26 nurses on May 8.

CCNE, officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, serves the public interest as an autonomous accrediting agency. It assesses and identifies programs that provide effective educational practices and ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing.

Lawrence Tech President Virinder Moudgil announced the accreditation in an email to students, faculty, and staff.

Students who choose LTU’s nursing program will benefit from this coveted accreditation that assures their education will allow them to advance health services and improve the world through providing high-quality and compassionate care.”

Even before it graduated its first students, the nursing education analysis agency Nursing Schools Almanac ranked LTU’s nursing program No. 22 among 76 nursing education programs in Michigan. The ranking was based on the unique partnership with Ascension Health, the reputation of LTU, and the foundations of the program and its instructors

All 26 of the students in LTU’s nursing class of 2021 graduated with jobs in hand—25 of 26 of them will be employed through Ascension Health.
