Jet's Pizza wins LTU pizza contest

Release Date: October 10, 2013

Soccer coach Will Dyer and volleyball coach Larry Wyatt serve up pizza.

For the second year in a row, Jet’s Pizza was voted best overall pizza at the Best Pizza in Town competition held at Lawrence Technological University on Monday. More than 300 students sampled slices from 10 pizza companies in Southfield.

Even though Jet’s was the best overall, the LTU students voted that Hungry Howies had the best crust, Shield’s had the best sauce, and Cottage Inn had the best toppings. Also participating in the contest were Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Bellacino’s, Pizzeria Biga, Domino’s, and Little Caesars.

The pizza was served up by LTU coaches and Student Affairs staffers.

LTU Student Engagement Coordinator Liz Artz thanked all the pizza companies for participating. “The turnout of over 300 students shows that the pizza completion continues to be a popular attraction at the start of Homecoming Week,” Artz said.
