Black History 101 Mobile Museum at Lawrence Technological University
The Black History Mobile Museum is a traveling exhibition showcasing artifacts and information related to the African American experience. The Mobile Museum launched Black History month at LTU and welcomed students and faculty to learn about the experiences, perseverance, and stories of African Americans from slavery to present time. Students, faculty, and staff were engaged in active conversations about the history of societies, change, making contributions to communities, and helping others.
“We recognized there is definitely the potential,” Lee Bradford, a game design student, stated after attending the mobile museum.
“I think Black History is kind of a lost art and we need to get back to talking about us and [learn] the things we went through, we prevailed through to get to the place[s] we [a]re at now,” Shamar Matthews, a student in CoBIT, added.
The Black History Mobile Museum is a catalyst for dialogue and motivation to be the change-makers of the future!
