Improve your career at Executive to Executive event, 'Conversations Worth Having'
When you think about it, careers – along with education, relationships, even life itself – boil down to a series of conversations.
So wouldn’t you like to make more of those conversations become truly conversations worth having?

Jacqueline Stavros.
Lawrence Technological University will kick off its annual “Executive to Executive” business breakfast series Tuesday, Oct. 16 with LTU Professor Jacqueline Stavros, co-author of the recent top-selling business book, “Conversations Worth Having: Using Appreciative Inquiry to Fuel Productive and Meaningful Engagement.”
The event begins with registration, networking and continental breakfast at 8 a.m. with the presentation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The venue is the Mary E. Marburger Science and Engineering Auditorium (Room S100) of the Science Building at Lawrence Tech, 21000 W. 10 Mile Road, Southfield 48075 (see www.ltu.edu/map). To register, visit https://bit.ly/2Oohfwe.
Attendees will learn the impact of conversations on themselves and others, four conversational frameworks, how to use a technique called Appreciative Inquiry (AI) to foster positive change, two appreciative practices to flip a conversation in a better direction, five principles to create conversations that work for everyone, and new research evidence on how conversations can help relationships thrive and flourish.

Attendees will also receive a free “Quick Start Guide to Conversations Worth Having” and a list of “Generative Questions.”
Stavros is a professor in LTU’s College of Business and Information Technology, Appreciative Inquiry strategic advisor at the Flourishing Leadership Institute, and a member of the Council of Practitioners at the David L. Cooperrider Center for Appreciative Inquiry at Champlain College. More about Stavros’ new book, co-authored with organizational consultant Cheri Torres, at www.Conversations.Worth.Having.Today.
According to Cooperrider, creator of Appreciative Inquiry and professor at Case Western Reserve University, “Our lives and the lives of others flourish or flounder one conversation at a time … Your conversations are defining moments in your life and others. Conversations shape you and others.”
