LTU Student Veterans Association to hold annual gala April 26
The Student Veterans Association of Lawrence Technological University will hold its annual Student Veterans Scholarship Gala Friday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at the Bellagio Banquet and Conference Center, 23900 W. Warren Ave. in Dearborn Heights.
The event features a dinner and open bar, a silent auction, a DJ for dancing, and networking. Tickets are $40 for students and $50 for others. Register at https://www.ltu.edu/student-veterans/scholarship-dinner.asp. The deadline for registrations is April 15.

The keynote speaker will be Maj. Gen. Michael A. Stone, who has served since 2017 as commander of the 46th Military Police Command of the Michigan Army National Guard in Lansing. In this capacity, he leads Task Force 46, Command and Control Response Element B, which is a United States Northern Command National Defense Support of Civil Authorities Chemical, Biological Radiological Nuclear response group. Stone additionally serves as Assistant Adjutant General with responsibility for Army armories, installations and recruiting in Michigan. He was previously special assistant to the assistant secretary of the Army for installations, energy, and the environment at the Pentagon.
Stone joined the Army in 1989 as a second lieutenant after completing ROTC service at the University of Detroit, where he received a bachelor’s degree in history. He went on to obtain a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and a law degree from the Detroit College of Law.
Also at the event, Ford Motor Co.’s Veterans Network Group will receive the Corporate Veterans Impact Award, and the Sam Bernstein Law Firm will receive the Service to Veterans Award.
