LTU Society for Dramatic Arts to present online play
SOUTHFIELD—The Lawrence Technological University Society of Dramatic Arts (SODA) will present “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” in three online performances Thursday, April 8, Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11.
The April 8 and April 10 shows begin at 7 p.m. Eastern time, while the April 11 show begins at 5 p.m.
The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads and catapulted online in this fast-paced, rollicking ride. Two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories, ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel, to more bizarre, obscure stories like Faithful Johannes. Organizers say the show will be a wild, free-form comedy with lots of madcap fun.
Registration for the show is free, but donations are accepted. Visit http://ltusoda.com/productions/bgs for more information.
At LTU, SODA exists as a common ground between artistic expression and LTU’s educational mission of “Theory and Practice.” Semester after semester, the concept of theater is truly brought to life, not only in terms of acting talent, but also engineering, architectural, and technical expertise. For every facet of life there is some application in the theater; SODA’s mission is to let students embrace that potential, mold it, and invoke it not only on stage but also in life.
