Horldt Excellence in Teaching and Learning Using Technology Awards

This year’s recipient of the The Henry B. and Barbara J. Horldt Excellence in Teaching Award is Patricia Castelli of the College of Management. Professor Castelli joined Lawrence Tech in August of 1995 as an adjunct professor and was promoted to assistant professor in 2000 and to associate professor in 2004. She received her PhD from Wayne State University and specializes in instructional technology and administrative and organizational studies.

This year’s recipient of the The Teaching and Learning Using Technology Award is Donald Carpenter, professor of civil engineering. Professor Carpenter has been teaching at Lawrence Tech since 2000, when he was hired as an adjunct professor in the College of Engineering. He became an assistant professor in 2001, associate professor in 2007, and was promoted to full professor in 2013. He received a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Michigan. His specializations include hydraulics, water resources, river engineering, and coastal engineering.
