President, Morton Marketing Inc., Plymouth. “My job, and Morton Marketing's mission, is to help our clients improve their businesses. We are proud of our focus on helping our clients; we get great satisfaction from seeing their results. From a tactical perspective we help our clients improve their marketing efforts. We may end up helping a client in one of many ways; web development, online marketing, public relations, advertising, maybe even brand consulting. But the goal is the same; we are trying as hard as we can to have them say that we had a positive impact on their business. If a client says that, no matter which of our services we may have provided, we are delivering on our mission.
“We plan to be the premier marketing services company in the Midwest. We have grown from one client to 42 in three years and we are continuing to move forward with a passion. We are creating new service offerings and building a team that is fanatical about our mission.”

WHERE BORN: “Wayne, Michigan.”

MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON: “My dad. He was chief of police in Wayne, and was a good example to us about how to deal with people in a polite and respectful manner, but also in a direct manner as required. I think he would have been a very good businessman had he chosen that direction, primarily due to his ability to deal with people.”

LAST BOOK READ: "Winning, by Jack Welch. I enjoy all of Welch's books. I think he has a lot of great, practical insight.”

WORDS THAT DESCRIBE ME: “Sense of urgency, results oriented, passionate about helping clients improve their business.”

WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: “Marketing is certainly changing, especially as online alternatives evolve and become more prominent. The marketing landscape has changed more in the last three years than it did in the 50 years prior. Certainly broadcast media is still important and traditional media such as direct mail are seeing resurgence but an effective marketing mix must now include the new ways consumers interact with brands and products. I believe a good marketing mix must include a healthy mix of more traditional marketing methods combined with an adoption of new media such as search engine marketing. Results are still king, but it's just not practical for companies to ignore these new media. They are here to stay and are changing and evolving every day.”

FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL GADGET: “My laptop, other than that I'm not a big gadget guy, I don't use a PDA or an iPod really.”

FAVORITE PLACE: “Probably home. I'm not a big traveler. I also enjoy being with my team and clients at the office.”

FAVORITE HOBBY: “Golf and poker.”

FAVORITE FOOD: “Pizza, no doubt about it.”

MY HIDDEN TALENT: "I'm told at Karaoke bars that I sound just like Sinatra -- I love singing, especially Rat Pack tunes."

HOW I WANT TO BE REMEMBERED: “First and foremost as a good father and husband. After that, someone who cared deeply about his profession and helping others to be successful.”
