Sean Hurwitz

CEO of PixoFactor in Southfield. PixoFactor is a fast-growing mobile and social video game studio specializing in the development of games, apps, animation, and more. Hurwitz is responsible for running multiple facets of the business, including funding and tax incentives, and has spent most of his career expanding his entrepreneurial skills. Under his leadership, PixoFactor has grown quickly. It employs more than 30 and recently moved its headquarters to Southfield from Royal Oak. Prior to founding PixoFactor, Hurwitz started and operated a commercial real estate business and while in his teens built an 85-person landscape construction business. PixoFactor was formed in Florida and eventually moved to Michigan. In November 2010, the company became the first to receive approval for film industry incentives for video game production across multiple digital platforms, a $2.7-million-dollar project to develop a Ben Hogan golf app, a Wii game, and interactive website experience. Partnerships include Tapjoy, a mobile application marketplace that provided partial funding for the game "Gaslight." Budd Friedman and Mark Lonow, owners and founders of the Improv comedy clubs, are supporting a project to develop the largest online comedy platform in the world, incorporating Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and other social media with a content-driven website and video integrated mobile apps. The company received Corp! magazine's "Best of Michigan Business" award. The company has received funding from Envy Capital in Farmington Hills and Alliance Acquisitions in Los Angeles.
