LTU distinguishes itself by providing students with cutting-edge technical skills and an ‘entrepreneurial mindset’ to cultivate curiosity and innovation within students.
The entrepreneurial mindset adds the ‘know-why’ to the technical ‘know-how’. This contributes greatly to the success of our students, their colleagues, and employers.
In keeping with these principles, we’ve developed a sustainable, multidisciplinary Entrepreneurship Ecosystem, including:
- LTU’s Entrepreneurial Engineering Design Studio, a unique sophomore-level design studio, engages students in a hands-on experience that builds on LTU’s “know why” foundation. Partners connect with students outside of the classroom and by the end of the semester, have built a working prototype that creates value.
- The Centrepolis Accelerator supports Southeast Michigan’s small manufacturers and hardware entrepreneurs by providing access to key resources including mentors, workshops, cutting-edge technologies, corporate connections, student & faculty engagement, events, workspace, and a collaborative community of peers.
