SUMMARY:
The College of Architecture and Design (CoAD) at Lawrence Technological University is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Interior Design. The successful candidate should be creative and collaborative with professional experience in Interiors. The successful candidate will be expected to assume a leadership position in the Interior Design Degree with professional experience and a scholarship agenda that might include healthcare, workplace strategy, space planning, emerging and sustainable materials, or mobility-based interiors.

JOB DUTIES:
Teaching, service, student advising and retention.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have professional experience in interiors and a history of practice-based innovation in this area. Applicants are expected to hold a terminal degree in their discipline. National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification required. Faculty member will build upon LTU’s dedication to design disciplines through an integrated, multi-disciplinary, and critical process. Collaboration with CoAD faculty and the ability to teach design students through an active, inspiring, and technologically-informed process is important for this position. Faculty member must have a clear scholarship agenda supported by a record of professional accomplishment. They should be able to demonstrate a combination of project-based studio and lecture-based teaching experience, and the ability to work with, advise, and promote a diverse student body.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree in a CIDA-accredited interior design program or a NAAB-accredited architecture program is required. Must have experience practicing in the field of interiors.
