JOB TITLE: Assistant Director
HIRING SUPERVISOR: Director, Academic Achievement Center
DEPARTMENT: Academic Achievement Center

JOB DUTIES:  The Assistant Director will collaborate with the Director to design and develop comprehensive academic support and student success programs for the campus. The Assistant Director will focus efforts on providing services to at-risk students and sub-populations including student-athletes and under-served students with the goal of improving academic performance and increasing student retention.

  -Collaborate with the Director to establish campus-wide academic support programs and services.
  -Facilitate and manage the Campus Connections and LTU Scholars Programs. Maintain the programs’ budgets.
  -Work with academic and athletic departments to design, document, implement, manage, and evaluate academic support services in collaboration with the Academic Achievement Center.  
  -Assist with design, staffing, and supervision of student-athlete study table program.
  -Assist with design, staffing, and supervision of early academic guidance program. Contact and counsel students identified as at risk.
  -Design and implement academic support programs for at-risk student populations including but not limited to undeclared, under-prepared, commuter, residential, non-traditional, student-athlete, and under-served student populations.
  -Develop, maintain, and promulgate documentation and procedures via the Academic Achievement Center website, e-mail, print/electronic documentation, and periodic training workshops for faculty and students.
  -Collaborate with the University Advising Center and academic departments to implement and operate technology systems in support of University-wide advising and student retention.
  -Develop and manage study skills workshops.
  -Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s degree is preferred. The area of academic specialization and experience should be associated with one or more areas of academics at the University. An understanding of student development theory is highly desired along with experience in counseling students regarding their academic progress.
