JOB DUTIES: The Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Communication at Lawrence Technological University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position as Senior Lecturer in our Media Communication program to begin August 2020 with approved funding. M.A./M.S. minimum, Ph.D. preferred, in Media Arts and Studies, or a closely related field (e.g., film studies, digital arts, critical media studies, mass communication or journalism.) The preferred candidate will be able to teach introductory media communications courses and advanced courses in their area of specialization. Such areas might include digital media studies, social media, film history and theory, screenwriting for film and television, media marketing, screen culture and identity, and ethics. This position aims to broaden our current media-production focus with critical media analysis. The preferred candidate will have an active scholarly research agenda that supports their teaching. The preferred candidate will have experience developing curriculum and advising students.
QUALIFICATIONS: M.A. / M.S. minimum; Ph.D. preferred, in Media Arts and Studies, or a closely related field (e.g., digital arts, critical media studies, mass communication or journalism). Record of academic publications 2 yrs. teaching experience, including student advising / mentoring
