A tenure track assistant professor position in construction engineering is available starting as early as August 2019 at Lawrence Technological University (LTU). Lawrence Tech is strategically located in the largest construction market in Michigan, with opportunities for faculty involvement in major construction engineering projects and consulting firms. Applicants should have a B.S. degree in civil engineering and an earned doctorate with specialization in construction engineering. Applicants with practical experience in construction engineering management or a related field, possessing LEED credentials and/or currently registered as a P.E. are highly desirable. The department offers state-of–the-art facilities for research in a variety of areas including the $11 million Center for Innovative Materials Research (CIMR).

The successful candidate will work closely with faculty within the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering, other responsibilities include taking a leading role as the construction engineering curriculum coordinator for both the civil and architectural engineering programs. Successful candidates are expected to attract funded research, participate in graduate/undergraduate student advising and perform services beneficial to the University. Candidates are expected to have a strong teaching background with a teaching philosophy that matches well with the strategic plan of the University and are also expected to work closely with LTU’s eLearning Services to develop graduate construction engineering online courses.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants should have an earned doctorate in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
