JOB DUTIES: The Armed Campus Safety Officer is dedicated to providing a safe campus environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. Armed Campus Safety Officers perform numerous duties to assist in the security of the entire campus community. The responsibilities of an Armed Campus Safety Officer are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University’s mission, vision, and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion. This position is part time, armed, and non-sworn.

The Armed Campus Safety Officer reports safety concerns involving buildings, structures, yards and parking lots. Maintain and utilize applicable security systems such as, but not limited to, card access systems (ProWatch), Closed Circuit Television (NUUO), and Emergency Notification (RAVE). Provide First Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) when needed and as trained.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associates/Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in criminal justice, police science, public administration, political science or similar or graduation from a Military Police Academy. Additional considerations given for certifications held in defensive tactics, firearms instructor, CPR or EMT.
