MCS at LTU is a multi-disciplinary department, with programs in Math, Applied Math, Computer Science and Robotics. He/she should have at least five years of experience in a university setting performing the following roles: teaching, research, recruiting students, leading faculty committees, overseeing curricular development and course scheduling, and advising students. The successful candidate must be capable of strong academic leadership, including program stewardship and support of faculty and student development, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain the confidence and respect of faculty, students, staff, alumni, and the professional community. Five plus years of administrative experience in industry or academe preferred, particularly in areas related to the department's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD in mathematics, statistics or computer science discipline preferred; three to five years of college-level teaching required; and three to five years of previous administrative, professional and/or industry work experience preferred. Strong record of accomplishments and qualifications for an associate or full professor position.

Responsibilities include working closely with the principal investigator and collaborators on developing test protocols for FST for materials, components, and subsystems, as well as conducting FST material tests. Additional responsibilities include assisting to publish completed work.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering field. The successful candidates will have expertise in materials testing for fire, smoke and toxicity, and have familiarity with existing standards in these areas.
