LTU awards hundreds of competitive scholarships to qualified first-year and transfer students each year. In addition to merit-based scholarships, there are also opportunities for test optional scholarships, private, portfolio, and athletic scholarships. Incoming freshmen are highly encouraged to participate in the annual Scholarship Competition.

LTU regulations restrict the total amount of institutional aid a student can receive, this includes; merit scholarships (with or without ACT/SAT), athletic scholarships and any other combination of institutional scholarships or aid. Students are only eligible to receive one merit based scholarship.

Freshmen students - All admitted students are automatically reviewed for merit scholarship upon acceptance. Merit scholarship amounts range from $4,500 to $16,000 per year starting with a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Test scores are not required to receive scholarships; students who are unable to submit standardized scores will not be disadvantaged in the merit scholarship process. However, if you have already taken or plan on taking the SAT or ACT and would like to submit test scores, your test scores will be considered supplemental information.  The deadline for submitting all scholarship applications is February 1.

New students are eligible to receive up to two scholarships. Additional scholarship opportunities can be found under the Other LTU Scholarships tab. Students are only eligible for one merit based scholarship OR the Raise.me micro-scholarships. Merit based freshman scholarships, Raise.me micro-scholarships and private and portfolio scholarships are only offered to new incoming students in the fall semester. The following types of students are not eligible to receive merit based scholarships: students returning to LTU, students who change entry terms or students pursuing a second Bachelor's degree.

Once accepted, students will have the option to apply for scholarship upgrades. Students must fill out the Scholarship Upgrade form and submit official transcripts by March 1. Additional requirements and information, along with the upgrade form can be found on the Scholarship Upgrade Form tab above. Scholarship upgrades are not guaranteed and are based on available funding. Students who have signed an Athletic Letter of Intent and scholarship agreement form are not eligible for scholarship upgrades.
