THE AVERAGE ANNUAL, NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID PACKAGE

Over 80%

OF STUDENTS RECEIVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

All admitted students are automatically reviewed for merit scholarship upon acceptance.  Merit scholarship amounts range from $4,500 to $16,000 per year starting with a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  March 1st is the merit scholarship deadline -- make sure that you have submitted your application and all materials for admission before this point. Test scores are not required to receive scholarships; students who are unable to submit standardized scores will not be disadvantaged in the merit scholarship process. However, if you have already taken or plan on taking the SAT or ACT and would like to submit test scores, your test scores will be considered supplemental information.

New students are eligible to receive up to two scholarships. Additional scholarship opportunities can be found under " Other LTU Scholarships ". Students are only eligible for one merit based scholarship OR the Raise.me micro-scholarships. Merit based freshman scholarships, Raise.me micro-scholarships and other LTU scholarships are only offered to new incoming students in the fall semester.

The following types of students are not eligible to receive merit based scholarships:

  • students returning to LTU
  • students who change entry terms
  • students pursuing a second Bachelor's degree.

A full explanation of scholarship policies is available on the Office of Financial Aid website  here

Merit Scholarships

Since we are test optional for the Fall 2024 semester, we automatically review any accepted student for a merit scholarship. Our scholarship review committee conducts a merit-based, holistic review for each accepted student. The committee looks at many factors including a student’s incoming GPA, the courses a student has taken in high school, and the rigor of those courses. ACT or SAT scores are not required to receive a scholarship, but may be submitted as supplemental information. Students must be admitted to LTU by March 1st to be reviewed for a merit scholarship.
