Cindy Frenkel
Cindy Frenkel's The Plague of the Tender-Hearted was released this fall from Finishing Line Press. She served as a Writer-in-Residence with InsideOut Literary Arts Project; her essay about that time, "Sharing Voices, Acting Crazy," is in the anthology, To Light a Fire. "Galway Kinnell and the Blue Button-Down," her remembrance about studying with Kinnell, was in The Southampton Review. "15 lessons from 9 years of teaching," appeared overseas (and includes her teaching at LTU). Frenkel was the writer/editor of the Detroit Institute of Arts magazine (DIA) and co-authored 100 Essential Books for Jewish Readers with Rabbi Daniel B. Syme. Her writing has appeared in publications ranging from Vanity Fair to The New York Observer, where she was a columnist.She earned her MFA from Columbia University and completed a teacher training residency at Falling Water.
