Xue Dong received a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Tongji University in China and obtained her MS Degree in Industrial design field in Auburn University. As the full-time faculty in the College of Architecture and Design at Lawrence Technological University, Her teaching responsibilities include Foundation/Basic Design, Industrial Design Studio and Virtual Visualization.
Prior to joining the faculty at Lawrence Technological University, Xue has wide-ranging professional experience, including consultant (Volvo Trucks), education and engineering field. In 2013, she conducted an international research project sponsored by Volvo Trucks. From 2013 to 2015, She was employed as a graduate teaching assistant in Auburn University in two years, participating in several classes such as anthropometry, photography, portfolio and 3D design studios as a co-instructor. As an engineer, she focused on tooling and injection molding field in toolCare-us International LLC ranging from automotive, housewares to medical devices. Her customers include Tesla, Nissan, Kohler, Briggs Stratton, etc.
Xue has been exploring a reasonable systematic classification approach to help designers and engineers understand the physical connections more deeply in her graduate thesis. Her research interests involves aesthetic consciousness, aesthetic recognition improvement, as well as design for manufacturing.
