Alanna Jackson

Alanna D. Jackson, B.A., M.P.A., is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at Wayne State University. Her specializations are Comparative Politics, with a focus on Latin America, and American Politics. Her dissertation "Politics of Recognition: Afro-descendants in Mexico" investigates mechanisms of institutional change that have increased rights and recognition of a long-unrecognized population. She is the recipient of the Kern Innovation Teaching Future Faculty Fellowship and the King-Chavez-Parks Future Faculty Fellowship.
