Swati Verma, PhD, is an assistant professor of marketing in the College of Business and Information Technology. Dr. Verma teaches various courses in marketing at the graduate and undergraduate level. In her classes she draws connections between the current research and various marketing concepts through a creative series of lectures, readings, simulations and various in class projects. Dr. Verma holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, an MBA degree in Marketing and has completed her PhD in Marketing from Wayne State University.
Her research focuses on consumer behavior. More specifically the two streams of her research are: 1) Behavioral Pricing and 2) Advertising and Branding. Dr. Verma has co-authored articles that are published in top marketing journals such as Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, Psychology and Marketing, etc. One of her co-authored papers, published in Journal of Retailing, was awarded with the Davidson Runners Up Award for 2020.
