Kristen R. DeVries has served as Vice President for University Advancement at Lawrence Technological University since 2016. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading alumni relations, special events and fundraising efforts.
Prior to coming to Lawrence Tech, DeVries was Senior Associate Vice President, Strategic Engagement & Advancement Operations for Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There her responsibilities included management of the institution’s comprehensive campaign, donor relations, marketing and communications, prospect research, protocol and special events, gift accounting and records management, and information technology.
DeVries has served previous roles in major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, stewardship, marketing and public relations at a variety of not for profit institutions, including higher education (both public and private), healthcare and social services.
DeVries is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Educational Advisory Board (EAB). She is frequently called to present on higher education and fundraising, including such topics as modern principals of engagement from students through alumni, volunteer-driven campaign management, building endowments to maximize long-term impact, data-driven strategic planning, gender-based differentiation in communication strategies, team building through personal development, and family dynamics in planned giving strategies.
She has a BA in political science from Wheaton College and is pursuing a graduate degree in technical and professional communication from Lawrence Tech.
