Dr. Bukaita earned his BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering from Baghdad University before he came to the US. He achieved an M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from LTU to widen his US-based experience to team up with the US job market. He was recruited by the AAC as a tutor in mathematics and civil engineering courses. The Mathematics and Computer Sciences Department at Lawrence Tech hired him as a teacher assistant in 2012 then an adjunct professor in 2013.

Dr. Bukaita instructing graduate and undergraduate courses in Art and science, Engineering, and Architecture colleges. Dr. Wisam is currently a full-time instructor in the Math and Computer science department.

Dr. Bukaita has a high interest in the mathematical and analytical background of procedures he uses to evaluate and design structures. He has developed one of the most thorough and analytical theses as a part of his master's degree. His research was entitled "Development of Analytical Design Procedures for Tapered Columns". A lot of this research was extremely analytical and mathematical. The rest of the research focused on modifications to the AISC design equations for column buckling considering residual stresses that develop from the fabrication procedure.

He is working as a Consulting service as a Subject Matter Expert with the LearningMat Solution company to help develop math course materials and the textbook publishing industry with several publishers including Pearson, Cengage, Elsevier, and Wiley to build quality print and digital products.

Dr. Bukaita believes that “Mathematics is the scientists’ language, and it is the floor of all science and engineering concepts and theories. Whoever capable to utilize this language, it is easy for him to deal with any level of education in any other discipline.”

Dr. Bukaita encourages students from different disciplines to work with him on research work that will improve the students' ability to transform their knowledge from learning to discovery and creativity.
