Jeffrey Powell
My academic focuses are on society, politics, and historical memory. I have also taught at Oakland University, Wayne State University, and the College for Creative Studies. My dissertation research was focused on how patriotic commemorations during the American centennial worked to reshape the nation’s historic memory. In addition to my teaching and research, I am also a certified archival administrator and was one of the archivists who processed the Mike Gold and Mike Folsom papers at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. My latest publications appear in The Emergence of Modern America 1900-1928: The Encyclopedia of American History, Vol.7. In my leisure time I enjoy sports, movies, and reading.
