Steven Rost
Rost has been teaching in the College of Architecture and Design for nearly 40 years. His teaching responsibilities include Foundation/Basic Design, Photography, Sculpture, Portfolio Design and Senior Thesis for the Graphic Design and Interaction Design majors.
He is co-author, along with Harold Linton and Laura Cleary, of the book "Marketing for Architects and Designers" published by W. W. Norton and Co. He has contributed to the book “Portfolio Design,” also published by W. W. Norton and co-written by Harold Linton. He contributed photographs for the book "Digital Vernacular, Architectural Principles, Tools and Processes" (Routledge 2015).
Rost also is a practicing artist and shows his photography and sculpture in the Detroit area. His work is included in the collection of Cranbrook Academy of Art Museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts among many private collections worldwide. Rost’s work has been exhibited in Shenzhen, China (2015) and Paris, France(2014), along with local Detroit community exhibition spaces.
Rost is a graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art (MFA 1982), University of Denver (BSBA 1975) and attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1978-80).
