Jessica earned an MA in English from Wayne State University. During her time at Wayne State, she focused her studies on British Literature, with a concentration on the Romantic Period. Her master’s thesis entailed an examination of the revolutionary discourse put forth in both the philosophical and fictional works of Mary Wollstonecraft, William Godwin, and their daughter, Mary Shelley. She also spent time analyzing the form of Gothic fiction and plans to continue her research. Although Jessica has a passion for Romanticism, her literary passions are wide-ranging and certainly not limited to that time and place.
Jessica teaches a variety of first-year writing courses at Lawrence Technological University and Oakland Community College. Outside of her teaching and academic career, she enjoys camping, gardening, and caring for her pets.
