Shereen Patten currently serve as Adjunct Clinical Professor at Lawrence Technological University. Though this is her first year in this position as a "Blue Devil" associate, she is no stranger to this lovely institution as she has participated in various on-campus events throughout the years. Shereen has 22 years of experience within the field of nursing with the majority of her experience attained in the acute-care setting. She obtained her undergraduate degree in the Science of Nursing from Grand Valley State University and her Masters in Nursing from Madonna University. Shereen Patten served as an ICU unit educator, staff nurse, nurse preceptor, Basic life support (BLS) instructor, and mentor. Her personal endeavor for professional growth led her to become an Advanced Practice Provider as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult-gerontology with additional studies and training in hospice and palliative care. As a Nurse Practitioner she served as a trauma provider and currently as a Palliative Care provider with certifications in both realms of practice. One of Shereen’s future objectives is to earn a Nurse Faculty position at a 4-year university where she can continue to grow the field of nursing.
Shereen Patten was raised in the City of Detroit. She is a recent former resident of the City of Southfield and a mother of three beautiful children. She enjoys learning about various cultures and American history through the perspective of the Black American. Shereen enjoys reading books for personal growth.
Shereen Patten says, “I do not subscribe to the idea of "searching for perfection or being perfect" as it implies that anything less than that is a fault. Instead, living in a state of continual growth (mentally & physically) helps align my work with a purpose-driven life.”
Her favorite movie is the Matrix. Her most inspiring scientist is Tyson Degrasse while her favorite season is summer.
