Li Chen is an artist, designer, and educator living and working in Detroit, MI. She holds a ME in Integrated Design from Carnegie Mellon University, an MFA in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art, and a BE in Industrial Design. She was the recipient of Mercedes Benz Emerging Artist Award & NYCxDesign Award in 2018, and her work has been shown in Beijing, Berlin, Detroit, and New York.
Li is the co-founder of Teikaut, a design studio that makes objects as a means to document current research. Their work ranges from printed matter to furniture, from speculative to the super normal. Teikaut also oversees Small Works, a twice-monthly workshop in the North End neighborhood that focus on print advocacy and writing workshops for community members.
