Katie Quinn graduated from Oakland University with a Master of Arts in English (2018) and a Bachelor of Arts in English (2014). In addition to teaching at Lawrence Technological University, Katie also splits her time between Rochester University and Oakland Community College. Additionally, she teaches 10th grade literature at Cranbrook Horizons-Upward Bound, a non-profit organization based out of Cranbrook Schools that services high school students from Detroit Public Schools.
Katie is passionate about literature, and when she is not teaching, she enjoys browsing book stores in search of new titles. Her favorite authors are Sylvia Plath, Adrienne Rich, Allen Ginsberg, Roxane Gay, Dorothy Parker, Kurt Vonnegut, and Joan Didion. Katie also enjoys creative writing, and her poetry has been published in BAC Street Journal, Ceremony: A Journal of Poetry and Other Arts, and Pink Panther Magazine: A Celebration of Feminist Art and Writing. During her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, watching movies, and exploring new restaurants with her husband, Joe.
