Dr. Srini Kambhampati comes from the University of Texas in Tyler where he was the Associate Provost for Research for the last two years. He was the S.A. Lindsey Professor and Chair of the Biology Department also at the University of Texas at Tyler from 2011-2017 when he joined the university. He started his career at Kansas State University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Entomology in 1992. He was promoted to Associate Professor of Insect Genetics and Evolution in 1998 and to Professor of Insect Genetics and Evolution in 2002.
In addition Dr. Khambhampati was a by-fellow in the Laboratory of Development and Evolution at the University of Cambridge, UK (1999), and an Assistant Faculty Fellow and Postdoctoral research Associate at the University of Notre Dame (1987-1992).
Dr. Kambhampati received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, Hyderabad, India, and his Master in Pest Management in the Department of Biological Sciences from Simon Fraser University, Canada, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Sciences from Simon Fraser University, Canada.
