Therese Jamison DNP, ACNP-BC is the Founding Director of Nursing at Lawrence Technological University. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Vanderbilt University and formally was educated at The University of Michigan (Post Master’s Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) and Wayne State University (MSN/BSN).
Therese has an extensive history as an educator for undergraduate and graduate nursing students since 1994, formally at level of Full Professor at Madonna University. She has been an associate of the Ascension Healthcare System since 1981. She is an acute care nurse practitioner in cardiovascular surgery, for the last 12 years, and formally in the area of cardiology since 1998.
Therese has presented extensively at local, regional, and national forums on topics of nursing practice/nursing education, and scholarship with a focus on quality improvement initiatives. Therese was appointed to be a member of the Board of Trustees Quality Committee for Ascension Southeast Michigan. Her recent publications have focused on nursing research. As well, Therese is the Past President of the Kappa Iota Chapter of Sigma Theta International, the national honor society for nursing, being inducted into the honor society in 1982.
Therese is passionate about the future of nursing, its role in delivering high quality, safe, effective, and efficient care. She shares freely her vision, passion and expertise of nursing with her students and professional colleagues. Her wish for the nursing profession is to be consistently recognized as an integral part in the health delivery system, continually advancing high standards, patient-centered and ethically based care.
