Ahad Ali, PhD
Associate Professor and Director, BS in Industrial Operations Engineering and MS in Industrial Engineering

Dr. Ahad Ali is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director, BS and MS in Industrial Engineering. He is the Director of Smart Manufacturing and Lean Systems Research Group.  Dr. Ali earned B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh (1994), Masters in Systems and Engineering Management from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2000) and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2003). His areas of interest and expertise are manufacturing systems, simulation, optimization, lean manufacturing, PLM, supply chain management and decision support systems. Prior to coming to LTU Dr. Ali worked with the University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez in Industrial Engineering as Assistant Professor and with the University of Toledo as Visiting Assistant Professor.

 
Daw R. Al-Werfalli, D.E.
Professor and Director, Master of Engineering Management

Dr. Alwerfalli is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Master of Engineering Management.   He has over 30 years of industrial and teaching experience.  Prior to joining LTU in 1990, Dr. Alwerfalli assumed many engineering positions at JNOFI Libya as Process Engineer, Production Manager and Senior Engineer.
 

Vernon M. Fernandez, PhD
Associate Professor and Director, ME in Manufacturing Systems

Dr. Vernon Fernandez is an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Industrial Engineering program. He joined Lawrence Technological University in the fall of 1988. He earned his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Bombay University, India, and his M.A.S.C. from the University of Windsor, Canada.  He holds a Ph. D. in Systems Engineering (Mechanical) from Oakland University, Michigan where he conducted research in Industrial Application of Lasers

 

Donald Reimer
College Professor

Don Reimer joined Lawrence Technological University in 1977 as an Adjunct Faculty member in the College of Management. He joined the A. Leon Linton Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2007.  He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Management from Lawrence Technological University and M.A. degree Political Science from University of Detroit Mercy.  His areas of interest are entrepreneurial education, business planning, strategy formulation and implementation.  Don is the founder of The Small Business Strategy Group and is a Certified Management Consultant. He has advised and consulted with closely-held businesses for over 45 years.
