Dr. Hussein Dourra

Hussein Dourra has over 28 years of industrial experience and over 20 years of teaching experience. A member of the PowerTrain Product Team, he holds more than 25 US patents in system control and has more than 10 technical publications. Dr. Dourra received the PhD in Engineering and the MBA from Wayne State University. Besides teaching at LTU, he has taught at the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and Oakland University. He is a member of the SAE Transaxle Standards Committee.

Hussein was born in Beirut Lebanon, and immigrated to the USA in 1982. He is married with 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.


Hussein’s education background includes:

1) Ph.D in Engineering from Wayne State University.
2) Master Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Wayne State University,
3) Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University
4) Master in Business Administration from Wayne State University.
