Zoom is a web conferencing tool that is available to EVERYONE AT LTU (faculty, students, and staff).

How to Login

  • Go to
  • Click Sign In , at the top right of the page
  • Click the Google icon
  • Enter your LTU Gmail Username and Password if it does not automatically appear, otherwise select your LTU Gmail option

Your account will be upgraded to the licensed version 24 hours after your first login.

How to Download

Before using Zoom you will need to install the client/application to your computer or smart device.

Go to from any browser.
    1. In the top right hover over Resources
    2. Click Download Zoom Client

    You'll be directed to the Download Center.

    Under Zoom Client for Meetings click the Download button.

    Once the file has downloaded open it and walk through the install process.

    Log in to Canvas and go to any of your courses where you are going to set up a meeting.

    1. Click on Zoom in the Course Navigation
    2. Select Schedule a New Meeting

    Go through the process of scheduling a meeting.

    Once saved, click Start this Meeting to begin the meeting immediately. You can also select the Zoom link from Navigation anytime and Start from the Upcomings Meetings tab.



    When the new page opens click the Download Now under launch meeting.


    The Zoom Installer package will be saved to your downloads. It may also appear at the bottom of your browser, if it does once it is completed downloading you can click it to begin the installation process.

    Note: The following screenshots are from an iOS platform, but the instructions are identical regardless of iOS/Android operating systems.

    From the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store , download the Zoom client to your device.


    Once the download has completed, you may access the app and sign-in through Google.

    How to Access

    Go to from any browser and select Sign in

    On sign in screen, scroll down and sign in with Google ( use your LTU email credentials )


    Go to Canvas course. Select Zoom from course navigation.

    1. From your phones' home screen locate the Zoom app.
