ehelp Usernames, Passwords and Safety
Username
The same campus username will log you into Canvas, campus computers, laptops, and tablets.
Student accounts are created within 24 hours of registration.
To find your campus username:
- Log into BannerWeb
- Click on Personal Information
- Click on View E-mail Addresses
- The campus email address before @ltu.edu is your campus username
Password
The initial password for canvas and campus computers is your 8-digit date of birth plus your 9-digit Banner ID number in MMDDYYYY######### format.
- Campus/Bannerweb computer/network passwords expire every year
- Email passwords do not expire and are independent of your Campus password.
- Password must be changed from a computer on campus or through myPassword .

Campus Resources That Need Password
LTU laptops, public computers, secured wireless network, printers and shares use the network/Canvas username and password.

Admitted Students and Alumni-
Click "BannerWeb Login for Admitted Students and Alumni"
Your BannerWeb ID will be your nine digit Banner ID (including all zeros). Your initial BannerWeb PIN is your date of birth in MMDDYY format. For example: 022890 You must change your PIN to another 6-digit (or more) number the first time you log into BannerWeb.
Current Students, Faculty, and Staff-
Click "BannerWeb Login for Students, Faculty, and Staff"
You will use your Canvas/Network username and password to login.
Forgotten password/PIN?
Contact the Help Desk at 248.204.2330 or helpdesk@ltu.edu to have your BannerWeb password reset.
First time logging in Canvas?
To find your Canvas username:
- Log into BannerWeb
- Click on Personal Information
- Click on View E-mail Addresses
- The campus email address before @ltu.edu is your Canvas username
The initial password for Canvas and campus computers is your 8-digit date of birth plus your 9-digit Banner ID number in MMDDYYYY######### format.
- Canvas/Network computer/network passwords must be 16 characters or more
- Canvas/Network computer/network passwords expire every year
- Password can be changed through myPassword .

- Login to Bannerweb
- Click on Personal Information
- Click on View E-mail Addresses
Your LTU email initial password
Your initial or default Gmail password is your birth date plus your 9-digit Banner ID number in MMDDYYYY######### format. This password must be changed when you login for the first time.
