"This course focuses on qualitative and quantitative understanding of electrically active tissue whether it is in the brain, heart or the body muscles. The course uses many of the same examples which were used by Nobel Prize winners, Hodgkin and Huxley to explain the mechanism behind the genration, propagation and stimulation by electrical signals in model organisms such as gian squid. The lessons learned from such analyses are used to demonstrate the interconnectivity between different elements of the bioelectrical system as well as usage in clinical measuresments such as the electrocardiogram."
