This course provides an introduction to the selection and performance of various materials currently used in biomedical engineering. Topics include theprocessing-structure-property relationship of selected metals, ceramics and polymers, their interactions with biological systems, and the application of biomaterials in drug delivery, artificial organs and tissue engineering. The following courses can be taken concurrently with this course: EGE 2013, EME 4603.
