There is an integral table in Appendix D and inside the back cover of the
text. Earlier sections of this unit have worked through most of the integrals
listed inside the back cover except the two below.

After you select the appropriate formula to use, identify any constants (a,b,c...) and the variable, u. You still have to make sure du matches before using any integral formula.

Problem 1:

This integral matches the integral formula given above on the left. a = 4, u = x, du = dx nothing to "fix", substitute in | ||

This too matches the integral formula given above on the left. This time rewrite the integral so that it looks like the one above, and to make it easier to identify a and u. | ||
