Unit 4 - Objective 7 - Division of Radicals
Quick Review

Rationalize denominators when there are 2 terms with square roots in the denominator. The denominator is based on the difference of squares product. To rationalize multiply numerator and denominator by the "conjugate" of the denominator. That is the denominator with the sign in the middle changed. Since (A-B) (A+B) = and squaring "undoes" a square root.

Example 2
