For many years, Dassault Systèmes has been a valuable partner and great supporter of Lawrence Technological University. Our partnership has had a positive impact across disciplines and has benefited countless students. A key supporter and advocate for LTU’s transportation and industrial design programs, Dassault has facilitated the introduction to leaders across industry sectors, resulting in studio projects and internship and employment opportunities. Most recently, Dassault lead the development of a virtual reality experience for LTU’s booth in the 2017 North American International Auto Show. The experience created a virtual transportation design student studio. Auto Show exhibit floor space constraints typically limits student exhibits to three or four. Dassault’s contribution allowed LTU to feature the work of 11 additional design students without incurring the cost of creating physical models or acquiring the additional space required to exhibit them. The virtual reality experience designers from 3dExcite were on hand throughout preview week and opening day to provide technical assistance.
