Two Day Workshop: Revit + Enscape for Interior Renderings With an Emphasis on Lighting

CoAD students and community partners, this semester, CoAD is excited to offer you the opportunity to learn detailed techniques increasing your skills and career potential through a series of weekend workshops.

This Zoom-only workshop series will take approximately 5 hours, broken into two, 2.5 hour sessions; Saturday, January 29th and Sunday, January 30th, 2022. One $20 registration/ticket covers both days.

This is a beginner/intermediate workshop series focused on utilizing Revit + Enscape for interior rendering. Students will learn how to utilize environmental lighting (exterior and ambient lighting) as a foundation to interior lighting. The interior lighting portion of the workshop will be focused on becoming familiar with managing Revit’s lighting families. This will start with exploring the qualities of out-of-the-box Revit lighting families as well as downloading manufacturer families. Students will then go through the process of creating their own light fixture families of various types.

We will explore combining the various lighting effects of Enscape with Revit artificial lights to achieve the desired results. To embellish the raw output from Enscape, students will be given effective post processing strategies in photoshop. The workshop will close with demonstrating the process of creating an Enscape animation, with introductory post processing in Adobe Premier. The workshop will take approximately 5 hours, broken into two 2.5 hour sessions; Saturday, January 29th and Sunday, January 30th, 2022.

Topics covered;

  • Environmental lighting in the rendering (30 min)
  • Balancing foundational lighting
  • Revit Light Fixtures in Enscape
  • Revit shipped light fixtures
  • Manufacturer Downloads
  • Creating Light Fixtures
  • Editing initial intensity in family type
  • Adjusting Artificial light in the rendering
  • Adjusting artificial light with Exposure/Ambient Light Brightness/Contrast
  • Bloom effect
  • Photoshop post processing
