Areej Salaymeh

Areej Salaymeh, PhD, is an assistant professor of Information Technology in the College of Business and Information Technology. She received her PhD in the department of Computer Science of Wayne State University. Dr. Salaymeh is a former lecturer at WSU and has more than eight years of experience in teaching computer science courses at the graduate and undergraduate level. She most recently served as graduate academic advisor for the Computer Science program and the Data Science & Business Analytics program at WSU. Dr. Salaymeh worked with students to set their academic and career goals and provided guidance to promote academic progress.

Dr. Salaymeh teaching interests are in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Designing Algorithms. While at WSU, she taught Algorithms Design & Analysis, Object oriented programming, Discrete Mathematics, Computer Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Game programming, Data Structures & Algorithms Analysis, and C & Unix programming. She had also taught Database Modeling & Administration, Data Mining Algorithms, Data Science, and Visual Analytics at LTU for the graduate master program.

Dr. Salaymeh areas of research include Machine Learning, Data Science, Deep Learning, Multi-agent Systems, Reinforcement Learning and Data Mining with applications of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Business Analytics.
