Bachelor of Science in Information Technology



Does a position that bridges the gap between business and technology sound like a fascinating career choice? If so, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Lawrence Technological University might be the degree program for you.

With a degree in information technology (IT), you will work in a field expected to grow by as much as 36 percent over the next ten years. As an IT specialist, you will design computing solutions that provide organizations the information they need to achieve their business goals. You can also develop strong leadership and problem-solving skills as an IT manager, making it easy to transition from one industry to another. 

In LTU’s BSIT program, you will:

  • Take courses in database design, systems analysis, technical infrastructure, project management, information systems management, telecommunications and general business
  • Experience small class sizes and explore various technology topics through online collaboration tools and the Internet
  • Select a concentration in systems design, infrastructure or software applications as you approach your senior year
  • Hone your team-building and leadership skills through interdisciplinary student projects
  • Get real world business experience through professional associations, industry partnerships, co-ops and internships
  • Earn early admission to the MBA or MSIT program with the right academic qualifications
  • Receive meaningful feedback and professional mentoring through the CoBIT Student Advisory Board

The College offers opportunities for internships to our undergraduate students, for 3 to 6 credit hours. The program combines practical internships with some academic deliverables that complement each other. The experience of an internship helps the students merge their theoretical knowledge with practical application.
